Hybrid Fighting is a spectacular new sport designed to change the landscape of traditional sport karate by encompassing all fighting ranges and techniques and combining dynamic punches and kicks with spectacular throws and submissions.
While many people begin training in the Martial Arts because of a desire to learn self-defense or to improve physical conditioning, they soon find that other than “Point Karate” which focuses only on the punch and kick aspect of the art or “MMA” type competitions that encompass the “ground & pound” brutality and bloodshed; they have no arena in which to test all of the skills they have worked so hard to develop. Hybrid Fighting seeks to fill that void by enhancing the fighting experience for today’s Martial Artists, while upholding the integrity, honor, character and safety of the competitors.
Hybrid Fighting provides Martial Artist with a curriculum proven to enhance the application of skills through in-class sparring and a venue to test their abilities against various schools and styles through tournament competition.
Hybrid Fighting was developed by Shihan Jason DeLucia and Shihan Eric Kearns with an understanding that most people, although they may love the competition and fighting experience, do not make their living as professional fighters and cannot afford to be out of work due to fighting related injuries.
“Even though our path is completely different from the warrior arts of the past, it is not necessary to abandon totally the old ways. Absorb venerable traditions into this Art by clothing them with fresh garments, and building on the classic styles to create better forms.” Morihei Ueshiba Founder of Aikido
